domainjunkies – a domainers blog

confessions of a domain name junkie

Google announced via its Adsense blog today that they will be expanding their Google for Domains program to all publishers. Instead of showing “page not found” or DNS errors, users can now see contextually targeted ads, links and search results when publishers use the Google for Domains feature.

Previously, Google Adsense for Domains was only available to large domain portfolio owners with very high volumes of traffic. They also worked with parking programs and registrars to show relevant content and ads on unused domains.

Now, smaller publishers who have unused domains can use the Google Adsense for Domains program to show ads and content on those unused domains. Without the need of signing up with a third party parking program who usually take a cut of the revenue.

Could this be the domain parking killer?

If domainers can signup directly with google instead of using a third party service like Sedo/Fabulous/etc, what benefits to domain parking programs offer to domainers?

WOW This is big news! Probably good for domainers, not so good for parking companies. For sure it will make the competition more agressive and should increase the revshare for domainers who will decide to stay with parking companies. This move also shows that Google doesn’t like to share..

[...] DomainJunkies.com just posted about Google adding an “Adsense for Domains” feature to Adsense publishers. This domain parking program was previously only available to large (very large) portfolio owners and has been basically closed for the last couple years however it seems a roll out to most North America publishers is now in the works. Definetly a good thing,

If it make me more money, Guranteed payments, no downtime, no hassle.

And no need for “testing” at differant companies.

Will have to wait and see what happens before the parking companies go Under :)

I’ve set up a dozen domains for test I plan on running for a few months – we’ll see if its worthwhile.

It seems that google will be giving a very tough time to the parking companie. But according to the templates that are offered by google should be more appealing to visitors.

It is generally a good news for all kinds of domain owners. But We have to see what kind of revenue shares does Google has to offer. Also the pages offered by google are not that impressive.
